History of the card XMP_000034 - "Lira Noctis, The Laughing Hex"
In the dark carnival of the forgotten lands, laughter was never a sound of joy — it was a warning. When the moon rose red and the wind smelled of iron, people locked their doors and whispered the same name: Lira Noctis. A jester, a witch, a living curse. She was the smile carved into nightmares, and the voice that turned madness into melody.
Once, before the laughter became haunting, Lira was a performer in the Cirque du Sable, a traveling troupe that brought color and light to war-torn towns. Her green hair and golden eyes made her the center of every stage, and her performances had a strange magic to them — people forgot their pain while watching her. But magic born of emotion is dangerous. The more the crowd adored her, the more she absorbed their feelings — joy, sorrow, fear — until the weight of all those hearts broke her own.
On the night of the Grand Eclipse, the circus was caught in a storm unlike any other. Thunder laughed, rain hissed like serpents, and lightning danced in circles around the stage. Lira, standing in the center, felt something awaken inside her. Her painted smile began to glow, her laughter echoed with power, and her audience froze mid-cheer — transformed into glass statues by the sound of her voice. When dawn came, only Lira remained, standing amid a field of crystal faces reflecting her own tear-streaked grin.
She vanished after that night, and the Cirque du Sable became a myth. But centuries later, explorers from the Vault Federation discovered an abandoned stage buried beneath volcanic ash. At its center sat a black music box shaped like a jester’s mask, still humming faintly. Inside it was a fragment of living data — a pulse that laughed when decoded. That pulse became the foundation of the XMP_000034 card, and with it, Lira’s legend was reborn in the LuckyVaultCard universe.
Within the game, "Lira Noctis, The Laughing Hex" is a card of chaos and control. Her active skill, Mirror Masquerade, allows players to reflect a portion of the opponent’s attack back at them — with added random effects that can either heal, confuse, or amplify power. Her passive, Crimson Encore, triggers when she is defeated, creating an unpredictable burst that affects all cards on the board. Her laughter may grant victory... or drag everyone into ruin. That’s the risk of playing with madness — and the thrill that makes her one of the most dangerous draws in the game.
Collectors discovered that her card reacts to emotional energy — the higher the player’s win streak, the brighter her eyes glow in the interface. Some claim that when her card reaches maximum resonance, faint whispers can be heard through the speakers: a lullaby sung backward, ending with a giggle. A few rare users even reported that their screen flickered into the image of a crimson carnival for a split second, as if Lira herself was watching them through the code.
When paired with Eli Verne, The Mind Architect, a hidden animation called The Fractured Stage is unlocked. In it, logic and madness collide — Eli’s controlled neural patterns clash against Lira’s emotional storm. The result is unpredictable: sometimes granting immense power, sometimes freezing the match entirely for a full second of eerie silence before resuming. Players call it “The Moment Between Sanity and Surrender.”
And yet, despite her darkness, there is tragedy in her design. Her metadata contains a hidden poem, encoded in binary and later translated by Vault historians:
I laughed so the stars would not hear me cry,
I danced so the void would not see me die.
If madness is mercy, then mercy is mine —
For I gave my heart to every smile divine.
Some say Lira’s story is a warning — that too much emotion, too much love for the world, can shatter a soul. Others say she is the heart of the game itself: unpredictable, wild, and alive. But those who truly understand her lore know that the Laughing Hex was never a villain. She was a mirror — showing players that even in chaos, beauty can still exist... if you’re brave enough to face your own reflection.
So when you draw XMP_000034, listen carefully. If you hear laughter echoing faintly behind your headphones, don’t be afraid. It just means she remembers you — and she’s smiling.
